“Photoelectrochemical Biomass Conversion – a step towards sustainable synthesis of chemical compounds”

The work will consist of carrying out electrochemical and photocatalytic reactions, synthesis of substrates needed for catalytic reactions, assistance in preparing material for publication and presentation.

Terms of employment: scholarship for 12 months – stipend (including employer’s costs) 2,000 PLN per month paid from grant for 12 months

MATERIALIZE – Methodology and Synthesis Advancement To Empower Researchers In Advanced optoeLectronIc matErials

Description of tasks:

1. Design and execute an interdisciplinary research project aligned with the submitted proposal and aligned with the overarching scientific goal of the programme, which is the development of next-generation organic materials for optoelectronic applications or the novel methodology for their synthesis.
2. Collaborate closely with a mentor from IChO and a co-mentor from an international partner institution to guide project development and growth.
3. Contribute to training activities organised by the project, including the creation and implementation of the Career Development Plan (CDP), with the goal of advancing professional skills and their own career perspectives.
4. Participate in an international secondment to a research or industry organisation for a minimum of 3 months.
5. Disseminate research findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, participation in scholarly networks and co-creating and spreading materials for the general public.

Terms of employment: Full-time position, temporary contract for 36 months. The gross monthly salary:

Basic salary: ~4 350 EUR gross monthly, (total funding*: 5 200 EUR)

Mobility allowance: gross ~418 EUR (total funding*: 500 EUR),

Family allowance (if applicable): gross ~334 EUR (total funding*: 400 EUR)

The total (basic salary + Mobility Allowance) gross amount of about 19 860 PLN minus tax deductions and minus social security / sickness insurance  deductions will give an estimation of what successful candidate can expect to receive monthly at their bank accounts

*Total funding includes the gross salary and employer social security contributions

“Center for Quantum Digital Organic Memristors”

The „Center for Quantum Digital Organic Memristors” project is carried out within the International Research Agendas (MAB FENG) programme of the Foundation for Polish Science co-financed by the European Union under the European Funds for Smart Economy 2021-2027 (FENG).

The Center for Quantum Digital Organic Memristors (CKCOM) project focuses on the development of a new generation of molecular memory and logic elements based on proton quantum tunneling. The aim is to advance energy-efficient memcomputing technologies that integrate information processing and storage within single molecular systems, with potential applications in nanoelectronics and AI systems.

The project focuses on memristors based on aromatic aminoacids. The tasks will include: synthesis of intermediates and target functional dyes, purification of products, complete chemical, spectral, and photophysical characterization of the obtained products, collaboration with MSc and PhD students, writing reports and publications.

Terms of employment: Full-time employment for 12 months, with the possibility of extension; a monthly salary of approximately PLN 11,800 gross, corresponding to the level of remuneration offered for comparable positions at the Institute of Organic Chemistry PAS in projects funded from external sources.
