In the last issue of the journal TrAC – Trends in Analytical Chemistry (IF = 12.296), ranking it as 1st out of 83 in Analytical Chemistry, the review of Dr. Marcin Górecki and Prof. Jadwiga Frelek entitled „Towards seeking the right chiroptical tool to assign the stereochemistry of bioactive compounds: Effectiveness, challenges, and perspectives” was published.
The review describes the most commonly used strategies for the stereochemical analysis of chiral active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), paying particular attention to the analytical aspects of circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. Moreover, the Authors, analyzing the newest articles, outline the challenges and prospects for CD spectroscopy in the context of research on new bioactive compounds.
