NMR Textbook – Interpretation of NMR Spectra

Witold Danikiewicz and Olga Staszewska-Krajewska
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy in Organic Chemistry: Basic and Advanced Methods of Spectra Interpretation

The objective of this textbook is to present the most effective methodologies for employing nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to confirm the proposed structures of organic molecules – including their three-dimensional configurations – as well as to determine the structures of unknown compounds, for which either no structural hypothesis exists, or multiple alternatives are under consideration.

This textbook is suitable for chemists at various levels of experience. Chapter 2 introduces the fundamentals of NMR spectral interpretation, while subsequent chapters present increasingly advanced methods. A detailed overview of the contents and a guide to the textbook’s usage – which follows a relatively unconventional structure – are provided in the Introduction (see link below). Readers interested in the theoretical foundations and measurement methodologies of NMR are referred to the companion textbook by Prof. Jarosław Jaźwiński.
