Prof. Daniel T. Gryko, together with colleagues from Italy, Germany, Great Britain, USA, Spain and France, won a Maria-Skłodowska Curie Doctoral Network grant. The grant is entitled ‘Photo-tuning membranes for molecular separation’ (PhotoBrane). The winning consortium, apart from IChO PAN, includes research teams from Jena, Berlin, Calabria, Zaragoza, Stanford, Swansea, etc. The coordinator is dr. Martin Presselt (Leibniz Institute for Photonic Technologies). The goal of PhotoBrane is to explore how to use functional dyes to engineer membrane photoswitching regimes to achieve unprecedented efficiency in the separation of small molecules.
