Building on the long-standing tradition of the German-Polish Conferences on Organic Chemistry, previously held in alternating locations in Germany and Poland, with the last meeting taking place in Hamburg in 2018 – we are pleased to revive this established format after a longer pause. Historically, these meetings have provided a focused and highly interactive platform for established and early-career researchers to exchange ideas, present their work through keynote and invited lectures, and engage in in-depth scientific discussions in an intimate setting.
The 2026 edition will take place in Sopot, on the Baltic Sea coast, from 20–24 September 2026. This year’s meeting marks a return to the original, intimate format, designed to foster close scientific interaction and collaboration. The symposium will bring together over 20 invited speakers from German and Polish academic institutions, each encouraged to participate together with a PhD student, strengthening the integration of younger researchers into the community.
The scientific program will cover a broad range of contemporary topics in organic chemistry, with particular emphasis on organic materials, bioorganic chemistry, and modern synthetic methodologies. The conference is primarily supported by the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences. In line with the established format, the program features only lectures and short oral presentations, without a poster session.
Set in the seaside environment of Sopot, the meeting is intended not only as a forum for high-level scientific exchange, but also as an opportunity to build lasting professional connections within a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.
