Research activity

Chemistry of various porphyrinoids is investigated, with special emphasis laid on corroles. Particular attention is devoted to the development of new methods for the synthesis of meso-substituted trans-A2B-corroles and chlorines. Synthetic transformations of such molecules as porphyrins and hexaphyrins are also investigated. The physicochemical properties of these macrocycles are studied through collaborations with various academic institutions all over the world. Design of molecules is based on their suitability as models for studies of artificial photosynthesis and molecular magnets. X-Ray structural and conformational studies, as well as advanced NMR investigations, supporting synthetic project, are conducted.
