This year we organized, under the auspices of the Center of Excellence CEDNETS, the conference "Sugars as Renewable Materials for the Synthesis of Compounds of Biological Interest". That actual small (ca. 60 participants) conference was organized in the Northern Part of Poland in a lovely watermill hotel in Klekotki.

     The conference gathered distinguished scientists from all over the Europe working in the field of carbohydrate chemistry and related compounds of biological interest. The meeting was planned in such a manner, that the senior scientists showed the broad aspects of their research, while the younger colleagues presented their own selected problems.
